AUTHOR’S NOTE
Tessa was diagnosed with autism and a trauma disorder following a horrible car accident in 2019. Since then, we have spent countless hours with therapists across the board (Occupational therapists, Physical therapists, Applied Behavior therapists, and so forth and so on!). She still needs some assistance at school with a PARA and although she is an amazingly brave and independent little soul, sometimes fear grips her or her amazing brain gets hyper focused on something that she can’t easily move past.
Every person in this world (on the spectrum or not!) has something to offer and I often find myself, full of awe and thankfulness, experiencing the world through Tessa’s perspective. I’m so proud of her and thankful for her grit and determination! She is going places—no one is stopping this brave girl!
This book is dedicated for all of those families with blessings like ours…I see you, I feel you, and I believe God has put our special blessings in our lives to open up the world to us in ways we never would have experienced otherwise!
This book is also for all of the brave firefighters I know and love! Especially those who serve or have served in the Denver Fire Department.
